My journey in the industry began with a family legacy. In 1986, my father founded Goldshield, an Essex-based window company that quickly grew into a thriving family business. The whole family, including myself, joined the venture, working together to build something special.

Through years of dedication and hard work, Goldshield flourished. As we grew, we were able to upgrade our machinery and move to a new, larger premises—a 40,000 square foot factory that housed our cutting-edge, automatic glass manufacturing line.

At our peak, we produced over 500 finished frames per week and more than 3,000 sealed units. We took pride in being the first company in the UK to implement a fully automated "Edgetech SuperSpacer Applicator." This innovation helped us secure contracts with local councils, including a major project in Havering, Essex, where we replaced thousands of sealed units.

Despite our success, the financial crisis of 2008 hit many businesses hard, including ours. After years of proudly serving our community, we made the difficult decision to close Goldshield’s doors for the final time.

Though Goldshield is no longer in operation, the experience, skills, and values I gained from being part of such a pioneering business remain with me today. That foundation continues to inspire my work and commitment to providing high-quality services through Thurrock Double Glazing Repairs.
